Roots of Leadership Development:

Leadership Development is rooted in a leadership renewal movement that began in Seattle in 1935.  Amid political corruption in government and economic hardships, Abram Vereide, Director of Goodwill Industries, initiated a meeting of 18 business executives for prayer, fellowship and study of the scriptures. Together they sought to find in the principles and life of Jesus a vision for “leadership led by God,” and soon they witnessed God’s power to change a city, state, and nation. Since then the work of Vereide and his friends has led to leadership renewal in nearly all 50 states and over 185 countries. In 1991 a group of friends who had continued this work secured a 501c3, non-profit status and called it Leadership Development Seminars.
